
DJ, turntablist and producer Roc Raida (Anthony Williams) is being remembered by members of the hip-hop community following news of his death on Saturday, September 19 at the age of 37, according to a statement issued Saturday evening by a representative for the artist:
“The legendary Grand Master Roc Raida has passed away this morning... Family and friends will miss him dearly. Please give the family their privacy.”
Raida released six solo albums and was a founding member of the DJ crew The X-Ecutioners. He also worked as a producer and made numerous appearances on albums by other artists including Jungle Brothers, Big Punisher, Bill Laswell, Mocean Worker, Linkin Park, The Beatnuts, and Pink.
Quite a week for celebrity deaths last week, still i bet there will be a big party in heaven with Roc on the decks, Patrick Swayze on the dancefloor and Keith Floyd manning the bar... R.I.P...
